Try and fail, but don't fail to try

I’ve been reading a number of really good weight loss blogs lately. As I mentioned earlier , reading them has really helped me appreciate the journey I’ve been on over the past 10 years … yes, it’s been that long.

While most of the blogs I’ve been reading have been around for 1-3~ years, none of them have been writing about the journey of trying to lose their weight and keep it off as long as I have. I must state right away that I’m certainly not correlating quality with quantity. My writing style and abilities to communicate clearly or inspire other are far far inferior to likes of Sean, Jack Sh*t, or others. I’m merely point out that I’ve been at this for a while.

What’s important about all of the blogs that document this journey of losing weight isn’t just highlighting what has or hasn’t worked. It isn’t just about the latest trends in healthy & fitness. It’s not about venting or how someone made some bad decisions. It’s not just a collection of food journals or rants.

It’s about the complete journey to a healthy lifestyle, the good and the bad.

It’s about every one of the moments and decisions that led us to where we are now.

It’s about asking ourselves the hard questions, in an open forum, in a hope that we don’t repeat past mistakes.

It’s about writing things down to not only remain accountable but hopefully help others with the journey.

It’s about how despite these things, despite starting over 13 times, I’ve reiterated my decision to make a change … to be healthy and fit.

It’s a decision that many people have made, few have shared, and fewer have succeed at.

It’s not about succeeding … or never having a bad day, it’s about never trying to have a great day.
