Friday Fitness Podcast Palooza

Podcasting IconI wanted to share some podcasts that I’ve been listening to lately. I’ve tried tons of podcasts and usually lose interest within the first few episodes. I’ve tried everything from listening to people talk about life problems while running to actual podcasts about mens adonis complex. These are the only ones that I’ve remained subscribed to.

Whether it’s at work to pass the time or during the numbing of a long run I think you’ll enjoy these podcasts.

Fat 2 Fit RadioWebsite, Podcast
I’ve been listening to this podcast for quite some time now. Listening to them at the end of last year really got me motivated again for 2010 and put me on the path to success that I am on today. Jeff and Russ have a simple no nonsense approach to health & fitness. There is no magic pill just hard work, eating right, time, and making solid decisions.
There are 92 podcasts (as of this posting) and they cover the gamut of health & fitness topics. They have everything from example workouts, debunking diet myths, health news, interviews, and have a long term plot of Russ on his weight loss journey. He’s currently down ~75 pounds to date and they take you through his ups, downs, and motivations each week.
If your looking for a weekly podcast to keep you motivated that’s entertaining and informative I really suggest checking it out. There’s enough content here to keep you busy listening for quite a while.
Two Fit Chicks and a MicrophoneWebsite, Podcast
First I have to admit to having only started listening to this podcast this week. I had seen links to it and don’t know why I never subscribed but I didn’t. Only after seeing @MizFitOnline and @DietGirl on Twitter and reading Carla’s and Shauna’s blogs for a while did I actually subscribe.
Second I have to admit to having listened to all 10 episodes in a about a day and a half. I really enjoy the hosting style that Carla and Shauna have going on. They seem to complete each others sentences and the conversations between them and guests are lively, energized, and genuinely fun to listen to.
This one is a keeper and about the only thing I can ask them to change is to have episodes more often.
Biggest Loser Fan PodcastWebsite, Podcast
I think the title says it all. I’ve been listening to this one for quite a while now. I always watch the show each week but find it interesting listening to other people talk about TBL. I think what I like the most about it is that the things they notice are very similar to what I do. From product placements, sob stories, lies, and truly motivational people they talk about the whole show.
If your not into TBL this one isn’t for you because that’s all they talk about. If you like to listen to two entertaining hosts recap the previous weeks events and offer commentary then this one is a must subscribe.
Transformation Radio with Bill PhillipsWebsite, Podcast
I have to admit to only recently finding this podcast. I’ve always enjoyed the no nonsense simple approach of Body for LIFE and the recipes in Eating for LIFE both of which were written by Bill Phillips. Anyhow I was hunting down online what had become of him since he sold EAS to Abbot Labs and I encountered his website and podcast.
He spends a lot of time in the podcast talking about another transformation challenge like BFL but not the same. He also interviews people in fitness and with interesting weight-loss and fitness success stories. I’m not entirely sure I’m sold on the format but I’m giving it a bit longer.
If your looking for workout advice this isn’t your podcast. If your looking for stories and conversations about breaking your bad patterns of actions and changing your life this is a good place to listen in.

I hope you find some of these podcasts as informative and as enjoyable as I do. I have a lot of others, not fitness related but wanted to keep it focused here to health & fitness related ones. If you’d suggest I check out other podcasts drop me a comment with the URL.
