Evil Salads and Ripple Effects

Portillos SaladAnother week, another Wednesday weigh in. I had some great workouts this weekend and although I missed my workout on Monday I still got a nice walk in with the family. We’ve been a bit short on sleep around the house as of late but we’re hoping the munchkins get on a schedule here soon. That decreased sleep, though not even close to what my wife is experiencing, has certainly effected my ability to push it in my workouts.

Against my better judgement we ate out last night. I was tired and so was the wife so we took the easy route and had dinner out with the family. While I limited myself to just a chopped salad with no bread, Portillos / Barnellis isn’t known for their “light” salads.

Enough with the couching … on with the weigh in:

Previous Weight — 294.0 lbs
Current Weight — 292.8 lbs
Change In Weight-1.2 lbs

I’m beginning to think that I’m stuck at a -1.2 lbs loss, that’s two weeks in a row now. I know something is better than nothing but I felt like I was really doing better this week. I blame it on the dinner last night. I was crazy even thinking a dinner out before a weigh in wouldn’t effect me, stupid stupid.

This next week I’ll make up for it, especially with the Weekend Warrior Challenge this coming weekend. I have something special in store for tomorrow … evil grin.

Guesting at Eating Journey

I’m sorry I haven’t gotten many postings out this past weekend, or really many this week for that matter. I’ve not yet mastered the ability to have a massive set of postings queued up for those off weekends. I’m still into posting what’s on my mind and when life jumps in the way my postings suffer.

I did find a bit of extra time this week because I had a great opportunity to write a posting for Michelle over at Eating Journey. She had a wonderful idea to put together a set of postings with a common theme entitled Me, My Family and Food. The postings challenged the guest posters to channel what impact our lifestyle has had on our family and people around us.

My guest posting is up today and is entitled The Positive Ripple Effect On My Family. It’s essentially about how everything we do along our journey toward being healthy affects those around us. From our children and significant other to complete strangers, friends, neighbors, and extended family. It may seem weird at first but there are more people observing and inspired by us than you might immediately imagine.

Please go check it out today when you get a chance and drop a comment. I’m very excited that Michelle liked my idea and is actually going to post it. Sometimes I feel like I’m so far from a being good at writing it’s not even funny. Despite this lack of confidence I really do enjoy attempting to creatively transfer my thoughts and ideas into words while hopefully not jumbling them along the way.

I had three weekly weigh-ins where I lost 0.4 pounds every week. It was RIDICULOUS, but the fourth week, I posted a slightly larger loss. Congrats on your loss this week.

Headed over to read your guest post now!

I know 1.4 pounds can be frustrating…especially two weeks in a row. But congrats are still in order. Those sodium laden salads certainly affect the scale. I’m sure next week will be better.

I’m intrigued by the guest post! I’ve just launched a site with a friend and we are exploring the effects of family and health. Ahhh…such an important topic.

I would be honored if you’d stop by and check our site out. http://www.sangriasisters.com

I think a 1.4 lb loss is great. You are still going in the right direction. It won’t always be as fast as we want!

I am going to check out your guest post. I think you are right, that what we do affects other people in more ways than we realize!
