Perseverance Leads To A Loss

PerseveranceToday’s that day again, it’s weigh-in day. As you may remember, last week I was up 1 pound from my milestone low which as you might imagine was quite a mental blow. Rather than dwell on the gain and beat myself up over the holiday indiscretions I instead doubled down and really focused this past week.

This morning that hard effort was rewarded:

Previous Weight — 300.4 lbs
Current Weight — 295.2 lbs
Change In Weight-5.2 lbs

I can’t help but smile over the numbers. I’ve been diligent and determined and really wanted to see the scale move. Even after trying some new foods (including homemade ice cream) and eating out a few times I was able to make great progress.

I’m also happy to report that I’m still on track with me new weight-loss goals. Had the number been different this week I might not have such goods news. While I wouldn’t have done anything drastic I certainly would have looked to revamp my routine. I think however that based on the trends I’m seeing my current routine is hitting a stride with my body so I’ll leave well enough alone.

It certainly was a challenging week which makes the progress even more rewarding. Even with sleep depravation, a rebelling 2 year old, throwing up kids and animals, and family stress I managed to continue my workouts and eating well. It was far from easy but my determination was high this week.

“Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.” — John Quincy Adams

Whatever you do don’t let life get the best of you. You can always find time to workout and eat well, trust me. Even with constant interruptions and time challenges I found a way to workout. Even when it’d be easier to drive through for dinner I instead used the time to relax and make a great meal to enjoy with my family.

Whatever you do, you have to have the patience to find the path. It’s never easy to find with life constantly throwing curveballs but trust me when I tell you it’s there.

Are you pushing through barriers, finding the path, and making your obstacles vanish?

What a fabulous loss this week! Congrats!

I find that I am learning to work through obstacles, rather than working around them, and trying to avoid them!
