The Unofficial Guide To Lose It Badges
As an active user of Lose It for over 2 years now and having appeared in the Lose It Book to say I’m into Lose It would be an understatement. One of the cool features in Lose It is the ability to earn badges along the way toward getting healthy and fit. They give you small little goals to work toward, add a little sense of accomplishment, and give you a bit of bling for your profile page (login required).
One of the things lacking on the Lose It site is an index of all the badges so I thought it would be fun to put one together, especially since they released a new batch of badges the other day. Below is an index of all of the known badges in Lose It as well as a note for the ones I’ve earned and how I earned them.
Introductory Badges
Welcome Aboard — You activated your account on Lose It!… Welcome aboard!I earned this one on 12/14/2010, when they started the badge system.
Hello My Name Is — You filled out your profile to let everyone know who you are!I earned this one on 12/14/2010, when they started the badge system.
Keep It Up — You are still here after 3 days! Keep it up!I earned this one on 12/14/2010, when they started the badge system.
Weight Loss Badges
Losin’ It — You have logged your first weight loss.I earned this one on 12/14/2010, when they started the badge system.
Ten Pound Club — You have lost more than 10 pounds!I earned this one on 12/16/2010, when they started the badge system.
Twenty Five Pound Club — You have lost more than 25 pounds!I earned this one on 12/16/2010, when they started the badge system.
Fifty Pound Club — You have lost more than 50 pounds!I earned this one on 12/16/2010, when they started the badge system.
Seventy Five Pound Club — You have lost more than 75 pounds!I earned this one on 12/14/2010, when they started the badge system.
One Hundred Pound Club — You have lost more than 100 pounds!I earned this one on 12/14/2010, when they started the badge system.
One Hundred Fifty Pound Club — You have lost more than 150 pounds!I don’t know when this was added exactly but it was not for a long time after badges were introduced.
Two Hundred Pound Club — You have lost more than 200 pounds!This was added with the first set of badges and I don’t yet have it nor am I sure that I will ever get it, you never know though.
Goal Badges
Goal Achieved — You have completed a plan successfully!This was added with the first set of badges and I don’t yet have it. You’d think I would, given how much I’ve lost but because I set a huge goal instead of smaller goals I won’t be getting this one until I hit 225 lbs or raise my goal weight in Lose It. It’s a nice badge to work for so I think I’ll just wait to earn it
On Track 1 Week — You have been on track to meet your goal for 1 week!I earned this one on 01/06/2012 by working out and hitting a workout goal I had set for myself to work out at least 4 hours per week.
On Track 2 Weeks — You have been on track to meet your goal for week 2!I earned this one on 01/06/2012 and I’m not sure why since I also earned the 1 Week badge at the same time.
Go Getter — Earn this badge by achieving three custom goals.I believe this was added on 10/10/2012 when they added the Premium Lose It accounts and added custom goal setting.
Accomplished — Earn this badge by achieving five custom goals.I believe this was added on 10/10/2012 when they added the Premium Lose It accounts and added custom goal setting.
Over The Top — Earn this badge by achieving at least ten custom goals.I believe this was added on 10/10/2012 when they added the Premium Lose It accounts and added custom goal setting.
Maintenance Badges
Smooth Sailing — You have maintained for the last 2 weeks!This was added with the first set of badges and I don’t yet have it. It can be earned by maintaining a goal weight for 2 weeks.
Rock Steady — You have maintained for 4 weeks!You can earn this badge by maintaining your goal weight for at least 4 weeks. It’s important that you weigh in every week and that you set your plan to maintain. This was added on 10/10/2012 when they added Lose it Premium.
Cruising — You have maintained for 8 weeks!You can earn this badge by maintaining your goal weight for at least 8 weeks. It’s important that you weigh in every week and that you set your plan to maintain. This was added on 10/10/2012 when they added Lose it Premium.
On Course — You have maintained for 16 weeks!You can earn this badge by maintaining your goal weight for at least 16 weeks. It’s important that you weigh in every week and that you set your plan to maintain. This was added on 10/10/2012 when they added Lose it Premium.
Over The Moon — You have maintained for 52 weeks!You can earn this badge by maintaining your goal weight for at least 52 weeks. It’s important that you weigh in every week and that you set your plan to maintain. This was added on 10/10/2012 when they added Lose it Premium.
Logging Meal & Workout Badges
Regular — You have logged everyday for at least 2 weeks.I earned this one on 12/24/2010 due to gaps in my records and because I never used to log on my free day. That seriously messed me over from starting this chain of badges
Dedicated — You have logged everyday for at least 4 weeks.I earned this one on 01/02/2011 due to gaps in my records.
Committed — You have logged everyday for at least 8 weeks.I earned this one on 01/30/2011 due to gaps in my records.
Unstoppable — You have logged everyday for at least 16 weeks.This was added on 10/10/2012 with the Premium Lose It and I don’t yet have it.
Hardcore — You have logged everyday for at least 26 weeks.This was added with the first set of badges and I don’t yet have it.
Die Hard — You have logged everyday for at least 52 weeks.This is a new badge as of 03/31/2011 and I don’t yet have it.
Old Faithful — You have logged every day for at least 104 weeks!This is a new badge as of 10/10/2012 with Lose It Premium and I don’t yet have it.
Just Peachy — You made at least half of your plate fruits and vegetables for 2 weeks.This is a new badge as of 09/19/2011 and I don’t yet have it.
Cool Carrot — You made at least half of your plate fruits and vegetables for 4 weeks.This is a new badge as of 09/19/2011 and I don’t yet have it.
Hot Tomato — You made at least half of your plate fruits and vegetables for 8 weeks.This is a new badge as of 09/19/2011 and I don’t yet have it.
Workout Badges
Exercise Buff — You have exercised 3 times a week for at least 2 weeks.I earned this one on 12/08/2010, when they started the badge system.
Exercise Hound — You have exercised 3 times a week for at least 4 weeks.I earned this one on 12/26/2010. I would have thought I’d have earned this well before then but after looking back in time there were some weeks I either forgot to log or took a number of days off entirely.
Exercise King — You have exercised 3 times a week for at least 8 weeks.I earned this one on 01/23/2011, again you would have thought I’d have had this one cold before then.
Exercise Idol — You have exercised 3 times a week for at least 16 weeks!I have not earned this, it was introduced around the 10/10/2012 Premium intro and wasn’t retroactive. Perhaps when I get my next streak going?
Superstar — You have exercised 3 times a week for at least 78 weeks!This was added on 10/10/2012 with the Premium Lose It and I don’t yet have it.
Legend — You have exercised 3 times a week for at least 104 weeks!This was added on 10/10/2012 with the Premium Lose It and I don’t yet have it.
Heating Up — You have burned an amazing amount of calories for 2 weeks in a row.This is a part of the new badges which came out on 03/31/2011 and I earned it on 04/03/2011. The official / unofficial way to earn this badge is to burn 140% of your daily calorie budget in calories in a week. So if you had a daily budget of 1,000 calories for example you’d have to burn 1,400 calories exercising each week for 2 consecutive weeks.
On Fire — You have burned an amazing amount of calories for 4 weeks in a row.This is a new badge as of 03/31/2011 and I and I earned it on 04/17/2011. You can earn this badge by burning 140% of your base calories in a week for 4 consecutive weeks. See Heating Up badge for an example.
Inferno — You have burned an amazing amount of calories for 8 weeks in a row.This is a new badge as of 03/31/2011 and I and I earned it on 05/15/2011. You can earn this badge by burning 140% of your base calories in a week for 8 consecutive weeks. See Heating Up badge for an example.
Molten — You have burned an amazing amount of calories for 16 weeks in a row.This is a new badge as of 10/10/2012 and I have not yet earned it. You can earn this badge by burning 140% of your base calories in a week for 16 consecutive weeks. See Heating Up badge for an example.
Pool Shark — You have done a pool exercise at least 12 times in the last month!I’m not sure when this badge was added but I’m certainly psyched to try and get it one of these months during my triathlon training.
Hole In One — You have gone golfing at least 10 times in the last month!I’m not sure when this badge was added but I’d love to earn it, I just need to save the cash to be able to afford to play that many times in a month.
Om — You have done yoga at least 12 times in the last month!I’m not sure when this badge was added and since I’m not a huge yoga fan I can’t see myself earning it soon.
Syncing Badges
Withings Connected — You have configured the Withings Wifi scale to share with Lose It!You can earn this one by purchasing a Withings Wifi scale and then linking it with Lose It.
Fitbit Connected — You have configured a Fitbit to share with Lose It!I don’t know when this was added exactly but I earned this one on 12/25/2012 connecting my FitBit to Lose It.
Zeo Connected — Earn this badge by connecting your Zeo sleep monitor to Lose It!. This badge will be awarded when your first sleep has synced from Zeo.I don’t know when this was added exactly but it can be obtained by connecting up with a Zeo sleep monitor.
Withings Blood Pressure Connected — Earn this badge by connecting your Withings Blood Pressure monitor to Lose It!. This badge will be awarded after your first BP reading has synced to Lose It!.I don’t know when this was added exactly but it can be obtained by connecting up with a Withings Blood Pressure monitor.
Nike+ Connected — Earn this badge by connecting your Nike+ account with Lose It!. The badge will be awarded when your first run has synced with Lose It!.I don’t know when this was added exactly but I earned this one on 11/02/2012 connecting my Nike+ to Lose It.
Run Keeper Connected — Earn this badge by connecting your RunKeeper account with Lose It!. This badge will be awarded when your first RunKeeper run has synced to Lose It!.I don’t know when this was added exactly but I earned this one on 11/06/2012 connecting my Run Keeper to Lose It.
Aria Connected — Earn this badge by connecting a Fitbit Aria scale to your Lose It! account.I don’t know when this was added exactly but it can be obtained by connecting up with a Fitbit Aria scale.
MapMyFitness Connected — Earn this badge by connecting Lose It! with your MapMyFitness account. The badge will be awarded after your first MapMyFitness workout has synced with Lose It!.I don’t know when this was added exactly but it can be obtained by connecting up with MapMyFitness and recording a workout.
In Sync — Earn this badge by connecting at least three apps/devices to Lose It!.I don’t know when this was added exactly but but I earned this one on 12/25/2012 connecting my FitBit to Lose It.
Wired — Earn this badge by connecting five or more apps/devices to Lose It!.I don’t know when this was added exactly but it can be obtained by connecting up 5 or more applications and devices to your Lose It account.

Extrovert — You have at least 3 friends!I earned this one on 12/13/2010, when they started the badge system.

Let It Snow — You took advantage of the weather to burn some calories!I earned this one on 12/20/2010 by shoveling some snow during the holidays.
Skinny Santa — You burned calories on Christmas day.I earned this one on 12/25/2010 by getting a workout in on Christmas day.
New Year New You — You came back to Lose It! to make a new you this year.This one is earned after leaving Lose It for a period of time, something like 60 days, and then returning in the first week or so of the new year. Not really an attainable badge unless you plan to quit using the application for a while.
Starting Off on the Right Foot — You started 2011 off on the right foot.I earned this on on 01/01/2011 by either working out, losing weight, or just using Lose It after the New Year, I forget which.
Starting Off on the Right Foot 2012 — You started 2012 off on the right foot.This is a limited badge only available in January 2012 by either working out, losing weight, or just using Lose It after the New Year.
Starting Off on the Right Foot 2013 — You started 2013 off on the right foot.I earned this on on 01/01/2013 by working out and recording it in Lose It after the New Year.
Spring Cleaning — Spring cleaning and burnin’ calories!I earned this on 04/01/2011 by doing some house cleaning.
Spring Fever — Spring is right around the corner, time to get outside!I earned this on 04/02/2011 by doing some yard work. I’ve also seen people earn it by hiking outdoors in the spring as well.
Gobble Gobble — Sticking with it, even on Thanksgiving.This is a new badge as of 09/24/2011 and I don’t yet have it.
Black Friday — Burning calories and shopping. Two birds one stone.This is a new badge as of 09/25/2011 and I earned it that day by walking while shopping and mentioning that I was shopping in the comments.
Holiday Survival — The holidays are tough, but you are tougher.This was a new badge last holidays (late 2011) but I didn’t earn it so I’m not sure the exact details. Anyone?
Miscellaneous Badges
Bookworm — You pre ordered the Lose It! book.I earned this one on 12/17/2010 by preordering the Lose It book before it was available in the stores.
One in a Million — Thank you for being one of our first 1 million LoseIt.com users!I earned this on 03/31/2011 by being user number 419. You could have earned it by being one of the first million Lose It users.
Strut Your Stuff — Thank you for joining us at the inaugural Lose It! 5k in Boston!I don’t know when this was introduced other than before the event and I did not earn this badge.

The hardcore badge was introduced with the first batch of badges, not the most recent spring batch! I got it on 12/7/10 (I’d logged everday since mid April).
I’m looking forward to getting the Die Hard badge! I’m glad they are doing a yearly one, I really like getting new badges, especially really difficult ones.

Thought you’d like to know that I just found out that for the Heating Up badge you have to burn 140% of your minimum daily budget in 1 week for X number of consecutive weeks. So for example, if you budget is 1000 calories per day, you would need to burn 1400 calories in a week.

I think the golfing category on Lose It includes things like miniature golf and just going to the driving range. Those might be a cheaper way to earn the badge.

The Starting out on the RIght Foot badge is Exercise on the first of the year. I found out when I forgot to log my New Years day exercise and didn’t think anything of it, then my brother earned the badge and I had to go back and figure out why I hadn’t, log my exercise and boom I earned the badge. Additionally how do you know what your user number it. I have the One in A Million badge but no idea what my user number is?

I received an email telling me I had earned the badge and telling me my number. Another way to find it is to goto a posting you made on the forum and look for your ProfileId in the URL. The number to the right of that is your Lose It user number.

The Heating Up and related badges you have the following requirement listed, ” You can earn this badge by burning 140% of your base calories in a week”
What is the definition of BASE CALORIES? For example is it the calories to maintain weight without any consideration of weather you are trying to lose 1/2 a pound or 2 pounds? or is it the calorie allowance at your current weight loss setting?

this is weird because I had a salad with chicken on it and it listed the whole thing as a protein. ::sigh:: I’ll have to work harder to earn this one!

I think the descriptions of the Heating Up, On Fire and Inferno badges are incorrect. After finding this site, I set my exercise goals to meet 140% of my daily budget in exercise each week, but I just now got Heating Up with a weekly calories burned total of 2004 when my daily budget is ~1850, after going nuts and burning about 2700 last week.

There’s a Tea Time badge, that’s being sponsored by Splenda. I don’t know much about it, other than one of my friends got it yesterday.
Like Coffee Maven you received it by mixing Tea with Splenda but only apparently during the time of the sponsorship.
I don’t know if you were aware, but there is a coffee maven badge. I earned it, but am not really sure how. I do drink a lot of coffee…a LOT. Add me as a friend and you can see it on my profile.
I finally added it, thanks for the heads up. I got mine by mixing Splenda in with coffee but others haven’t been able to reproduce it since they stopped sponsoring it.
I’ve had Lose It! for six weeks now, and still haven’t earned the Welcome Aboard badge even though I’ve already registered an account. Do you know how I could fix that?
Have you set goals? Recorded weight? And filled out a few days worth of calories? If the answer is yes I’d say shoot a message on the support forums as you should have received it. Another thing you can try is make sure you have the syncing setup to save to their servers.
I’ve earned both the tea time and coffee maven badges; and I don’t use Splenda. I think the badge is just based off of how many times you drink tea and coffee in a certain time frame…

I also add splenda to my coffee.
I drink coffee twice a day every day.
I’m starting to think these Splenda badges were temporary as I haven’t seen anyone get them and I can’t get the other one.
I think you are correct, Sean. I have logged brewed tea with several of the splenda choices focusing on the zero calorie option and no tea time badge here.

I quit drinking coffee a couple months ago cause my heartburn was getting bad. I really wanted to get this badge and have drank a ton of coffee lately. Dang. Can’t crack it. The FAQ states it’s temporary, but doesn’t state it’s over. If anyone figures it out that would be cool.

Hi, I just saw a badge called “premium”. Any info on that yet?
there is a premium badge that I saw that you get for upgrading to a premium lose-it account.
Lose It has posted a badge FAQ at the link below. A whole bunch of brand new badges are on it.
As far as I can tell, the only old badges not on the FAQ are the Strut Your Stuff badge for the Boston 5K run and the YMCA affiliation badges (which I don’t know if they ever even actually awarded to anyone?)
Anyway, now Sean won’t have to worry about keeping this page updated…one less time consuming task for you, yay!

I recently got 2 more badges Exercise Idol for exercising 3 times a week for 16 weeks and Molten for burning amazing calories for 16 weeks in a row.
I’ve also seen a new badge called the “challenge accepted” badge. I don’t know when it was added, but you get it when you join a challenge.
I got the tea badge and I got it by drinking tea with every meal for 3 days. When I drink tea I drink about 16oz per cup.
The Holiday Survival badge is for not gaining weight during the holidays. It was a limited time badge in 2011
