Nesting Before Pandemonium Begins Anew

Nest with 3 blue eggsThe day where my wife and I are outnumbered is fast approaching. Well, you could argue its already past I suppose given how low her energy has been lately but officially it’s approaching.

The 3rd day of pandemonium is fast approaching!

It’s still hard to imagine another baby in the house. We’re both crazy excited for it and can’t wait to meet him but thinking about three kids running around being the mobile chaos that kids can be is pretty scary and daunting right now.

I’ve been nesting … there I said it. My wife’s been telling people I’ve been nesting for a few weeks now but I don’t think I’ve said it yet. I don’t know why but I feel this need right now to clean and get things in order.

Maybe it’s just finally getting into a groove in other parts of life or maybe I really just need more order and less chaos right now. Either way I’ve been hanging shelves, weeding, cleaning, and decluttering like there’s no tomorrow. And the great part is, it’s really helping!

There’s nothing like a clean house to clear your mind. Less clutter and less chaos makes things feel manageable and less challenging. It’s like when we plan our workouts and/or our meals, it just makes working out and being healthy easier because you can go on autopilot.

Having a clean counter, knowing where things are when you need them, and keeping grime at bay makes life seem simpler under the stressors that are kids. Personally I hope I’m able to just turn this into a set of new habits because I really like it. Being that I’ve been told I have a lot of anal-retentive tendencies means that anti-clutter and cleanliness plays right into my wheelhouse.

I can’t wait to meet him and give him a snuggle … he just better not make a mess ;) ya right!

Did you or your spouse nest before your kids?

:) YAY NUMBER 3! And if you get bored nesting at your house, I have some ideas for you… :D *looks about shifty-eyed*

  2. Oh boy, I nested like crazy! When I was pregnant, I felt like everything had to pretty much be sterilized. My hubby thought I was crazy! I felt the need to do EVERYTHING…things that I normally could care less about…like cleaning out a closet in the spare bedroom…you know, that “junk closet?” Our son wasn’t even going to be in that room, but I went crazy cleaning in “just in case” he ever went in there. So silly now that I think about it since I cleaned that room countless times after he was born…LOL! Best of luck to you!
